The humble beginnings of my DIGC blogs start here.
Firstly, I'm Matt. Studying Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies, majoring in Advertising and Marketing with a minor in Digital Communications.
I wish to use this blog as a means to not only comment on the varoius weekly readings, but also incorporate my own personality and interests into each blog.
None more so than tattooing, which a stack of tattoo related blogs which I view on a daily basis. The following video is one of the first ever 'animated' tattoo, where a QF code was tattooed onto a man's chest, later being able to be transferred onto an iphone as an animated picture. This process was streamed live via Facebook, and encapsulates how many cultures and practices are being influenced by digital communications, with the ability to collaborate and share various practices on a global scale.
What also was particularly interesting to me was the fact that this new technology and implementation of digital communications on this particular tattoo 'culture' was an elaborate online marketing communications practice for Ballentine’s Alcohol. This is just a further example of the willingness for company's to push the boundaries and capabilities of digital technologies for online marketing campaigns. What will they think of next?!
